How to Wear Headscarves with Glasses

Updated: Jun 28

Glasses give you an opportunity for instant celebrity glamour. You can intensify the style of your ensemble with this key accessory.

Slide on sunglasses, prescription glasses, or just non-prescription glasses for the added sophistication.

Tying your headscarf over your ears helps keep it in place more securely. However, the scarf can put pressure on your head if tied too snugly.

For more comfort, tie the scarf behind your ears, so they're not pushing the frames into your skin. Wear a stocking cap or velvet headband underneath everything to prevent slipping.

Consider inserting the frames of the sunglasses between layers of the headscarf, as shown in the photo above.

1. Channel Jackie O vacationing on the Italian isle of Capri by pairing round sunglasses with a scarf that drapes down your back. It's a perfect combination for staying protected and cool while relaxing on the beach.

2. Cat-eye shades look great with a triangular scarf tied Old Hollywood-style, a la Audrey Hepburn. Great for a downtown shopping trip with friends.

3. Wear aviators after your next flight, along with an updo scarf style like the Royal Wrap or Double Wrap (see video below). You'll feel like an undercover movie star while camouflaging jet-lagged eyes.
